This is precisely why meditation and “thinking about thinking” are powerful habits. I have started to wonder if the “third eye” is a metaphor for seeing your own mind in the third person; It is a profoundly useful skill to just take a step back, realize your emotional context, and ask yourself why you are doing/saying/thinking/feeling things. Meditation strengthens this skill and allows me to quickly get perspective when I choose to.
